I don't know if Ryan ever got it into the CVS repository, but there's
a tarball linked in the message that could be compared to various
commits, or maybe somehow spliced into the commit history.

As for the other commits, I believe the last three-digit number in those
version numbers is traditionally the number of Non-Kitten Items. You
should be able to narrow down the commit range by seeing which commits
had exactly that number of NKIs in the database.
